One of the traveling companions of Hazrat Shahjalal (R) Hazrat Shah Soleiman Fatehgazi and Hazrat Sheikh Musapir's full land Baghasura U / P. Baghasura Union is located in Madhabpur upazila of Habiganj district. Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's guru Madhav Gosai's house is in Baghasura village. In Baghasura Union, Zamindar Narendra Nath Chatravarti has his house and shashman in Baghasura village in this area. Baghasura Union is rich in natural resources including Habiganj Gas Field, Shahjibazar Rubber Garden, 4 Power Plants at Shahjibazar. There are many factories in Baghasura Union including RAK Print, Star Ceramic, Star Forsaline, Charu Ceramic, Square Textile & Denim, Pioneer Denim, TK Group etc. In this education friendly union there are many wise established people. For the education of the Union, there are 4 secondary educational institutions - Kalikapur High School, Power Development Board High School, Dr. Mohiuddin High School and Chalehabad Dakhil Madrasa.There are 13 primary education institutions and 6 private kindergartens. The total population of this education and industry friendly union is about 29,000 people (about 15,200 males and about 13,600 females). Literacy rate among the town people is 93%. The Dhaka-Sylhet Highway, the Dhaka-Sylhet Railway and the Habiganj Local Government Engineer's Road flow through the central part of Baghasura Union.There are 3 approved markets in this peaceful union - Kalikapur Bazar, Baghasura (Kaliganj) Bazar - recently there is a cattle market every Sunday, Shahpur Bazar and on-approved there are Wapda Bazar, Baghasura Chowk Bazar, Baghasura Road Bazar.The Union has Kalikapur Union Land Office, 3 Post Offices, Baghasura Post Office (recently Baghasura Advocate Swaraj Ranjan Biswas donated land for this building for his own building), Shahpur Post Office and Shahjibazar Post Office. There are 9 mouzas, 33 villages and 9 wards in the union of 23.56 square miles.
